Pro Ski and Mountain Service - North Bend, Washington

I recently rented a ski touring package from Pro Ski for my AIARE class during the weekend of January 11. Overall, the rental process was smooth, and the staff took the time to show me how to use the equipment. However, I encountered a significant issue that impacted my experience.

The skis I was given had not been waxed, a crucial detail that was never mentioned. On my second run of the touring day, I noticed that the skis weren’t sliding at all because thick layers of snow were bonding to the base. This issue turned what should have been an enjoyable run into a frustrating experience. Thankfully, one of the class instructors was carrying rub-on wax, but I had to put my skins back on and slide down through the fresh powder to find him—a real disappointment, especially on a bluebird day with perfect powder conditions.

When I returned the equipment, I informed the staff about the problem. Unfortunately, their response was less than satisfactory. The staff member simply handed me the slip where I left credit card info on and said, "you're good to go." There was no acknowledgment of the issue or any effort to address my concerns.

While I appreciated the initial service, this oversight and lack of follow-up significantly marred my experience. I hope Pro Ski takes feedback like this seriously and ensures that all their skis are properly maintained in the future. For anyone renting from them, I recommend checking the condition of the equipment thoroughly before heading out.

Fantastic ski and snowboard shop. They primarily are a ski shop, but they have plenty of people on staff and items in store to help with snowboarding as well. As well as offering ski and snowboard services, including tuning and waxing. They also offer full service fitting for purchasing of new equipment and gear. I purchased a pair of snowboard boots here, and they spent plenty of time helping to ensure that I found the boots I needed and wanted, as well as taking the time to make sure that they got the right fit. Yes, it will be a bit pricey, but the service that they offer justifies the costs

Had a snowboard damaged while on a trip, and while there I got estimates from "can't be fixed" to "it'll be at least a week." I decided to rent for the rest of the trip and check out Pro Ski when I got back.

Carsten took a look at it and gave me a couple different options, both of which were just a few days away, and talked me through the pros and cons. I haven't had a chance to ride the repair yet, but it looks great, and he even got the board back to me faster than estimated.

I’ve heard good things about Pro Ski from a variety of friends and industry professionals, and I started bringing skis in for mounts and service last year. What’s prompting this rare review from me is an experience I had recently on a new ski mount.

Basically, there was an issue from the that got missed by the shop tech and me at pickup - I only noticed weeks after pickup when I was doing some preseason tuning. Pro Ski accepted responsibility, fixed the issue relatively quickly in the midst of their busiest season for ski work and made me a happy customer. They were professional and easy to communicate with the entire time.

Given enough time and chances, it’s inevitable something in shop service won’t go right for you. How we’ll they handled an unfortunate incident gave me even more confidence to keep using this shop.

Went in for a boot fitting appointment and Conner was amazing! He was super helpful with adding foam to my current boots to work better and find a better all round fitting boot as well! Would recommend to anyone who is struggling with boot sizing!

Super helpful and kind ski rental service. I went right when they opened, we came in with our own boots and they got me the gear that we specified (ski and pole sizing) in under 10 minutes and adjusted the binding on their skis really quickly too.

Friendly, excellent and helpful advice on backcountry skiing, AT boots, bindings and skis. The women's clothing section was minimal and not so inspiring. Love they have skate skis and the Cafe looks cool too!
