I bought a bike off craigslist for a steal because I wanted to take up cycling and potentially even commute to work when the weather is nice. Needed new tires and they were super accommodating. The guy even gave me a quick crash course in changing a flat tire so I can try and do it myself next time. The service was fast and affordable and being able to communicate via text was very convenient. Definitely going to be attending a flat tire clinic next so I can get more self- sufficient with it in the future.

I purchased my Turbo Tero a few weeks back from specialized Austin. The bike is amazing. It’s versatile and can be used as a commuter bike with added accessories. This is post is less about the product but more about the commitment of customer service by Specialized Austin.

Let’s talk about Specialized Austin and what I learned through a purchasing experience that had a bumpy stretch of road. Yes we are all human but the details of what occurred are not important as the outcome. After we worked through some misunderstanding I was invited to have a beer with Kimmi. Here are some insights I want to share. Specialized Austin is a woman owned business. Kimmi has a committed crew of individuals and dogs who puts the rider first and is intent on building relationships. The staff are passionate about all aspects of cycling and knowledgeable of their products and fitting you to the bike to meet your needs.

The sales staff are not about a pressured sale but achieve sales through information. Technicians are top notch and walk you through all aspects of your bike.

It’s clear having worked with staff and meeting Kimmi I can tell the culture and local brand she wants for the Specialized Austin is shared by the staff I met. They are growing which I find exciting but they also want the connection with the rider to continue.

Kimmi and I had THE conversation we should of had a few days before. We both reflected on our experience chose to learn from each other, laughed together, had a beer and I was provided a rare behind the scenes tour of the warehouse.

Bottom line you can buy a bike anywhere and that’s your choice. But if your looking for a little more you can by a bike and support a small Austin business with an amazing brand that is willing to build relationships. Maybe you will get a beer invite too!!

Long over due but this is a 5+ Star business! I've been riding Specialized for more than decade and very happy with my bike. I moved to Austin recently and during the really cold weather earlier this, I thought it was a good time to take the bike in for the Annual Service & Cleaning. I've always been happy when taking my bike in to a Specialized store for service... but this is an entirely different level of customer service!

First, no need to call. Just book it entirely online (my preference). I filled out the information online and for the remainder of the scheduling, it was all done via text. They are very accommodating and it was easy to get an appointment to bring my bike in. The repair shop is located at a different location but they really go that extra special touch. When you arrive, just text them and a service person will come out to your car and pick up the bike. No waiting, no extra paper work to fill out. Literally hand it over to them and you are on your way! Now, as I said, I've always been pleased with repairs/service from Specialized store, but generally you are going to wait some time. Being this is Austin, and I'm sure others had the same idea given the weather, I had anticipated a few weeks to get my bike back. But instead it was only a few days! When they contacted me, I thought it was to tell me they discovered something that needed replacing, but instead, it was just to pick up the bike. Payment online is a breeze so again, just had to pull, text and someone brought the bike out to my car. It's like the Ritz Carlton of bike shops!

My bike as good as the first day I purchased it. That is until months later when I took a spill. Just not paying attention while riding; I noticed the gears not shifting as smoothly so I knew exactly who to take it to! Again, getting an appointment was as easy as the next day! After dropping the bike off, it wasn't long before I received a call and fortunately, it was something pretty minor and I would be able to get my bike the next day!

I don't live in Austin, but it's worth the drive for the quality of work they do and their professionalism. Certainly they work on other bike brands, but if you own a Specialized (or any other bike) you won't ever regret bringing your bike here. Everything from the scheduling, the speed and quality of their work to the friendly staff, this is truly a Five Star business!

Scott showed me great hospitality at the Specialized store this evening. I rolled in about an hour before closing to check out some gear and tires. He provided me a pump and some tire levers so I could mount them and he even stayed a few minutes late so I could finish the job. Thank you Scott for making me feel welcome, I’ll be back!!

Really surprised I’m writing this review since this place has almost a 4.9 otherwise.. went to this location looking for a female bike for my wife at 6pm on 9/14 and the place was dead. One extremely rude and unbothered worker (older man, salt and pepper hair with glasses) did not acknowledge us when we walked in. We stood there several minutes until I finally said hello… the man looked at us annoyingly and said “give me a second I’m dealing with a customer…”. How rude. Horrible attitude. We were serious buyers and he did not seem interested in selling us a bike. Hope it’s not because I did not look serious enough for him… lost my business for sure. Sad. Make sure you dress up nice before you come in here so you get treated like a human being.

We worked with Drew recently at the South Austin warehouse/delivery location to get a new mountain bike for my son. If you already know what you want, what size, color, etc. than this is a great location for quick delivery of a new bike. If you need a lot of help shopping for a new bike and guidance on what to purchase for your riding style, size, etc. then you would be better off going to the storefront location in the Domain.

Selecting the right bike and accessories could not have been easier. Skot at the Domain in Austin and Drew in the Warehouse, South Austin. Of course the The
TURBO Tero 5 is an amazing ebike at a big discount! They took the time to work through the electronics too, even for android dinosaur like me. Very psyched and commuting too.
